INVITATION FOR COORDINATION AND MARKING OF NECO SCRIPTS FOR JULY 2019

(b) Lump Sum Allowance:
A lump sum allowance based on the number of scripts marked will be paid at the rate
of N16.00 per script. This takes care of all examiners’ expenses during the period of
marking.
NOTE: Only scripts fee and lump sum will be paid to examiners who mark extra scripts.
Progressive Marking and Vetting:
As an Examiner Grade III, you will be expected to:

You are expected to be punctual at all coordination and marking sessions. Your
Chief Examiner or EG.I/II has been asked to keep a record of your attendance and
performance throughout the period of marking. A sum of Two thousand naira
(N2,000.00) shall be paid for attendance. Payment of this amount is subject to your
attendance at the marking venue.
Reference Materials and Equipment
(c) Attendance Fee:
To facilitate the conduct of coordination meeting, you are required to study the question paper
and come to the marking venue with relevant reference materials and equipment including HB
pencil, eraser, sharpener, mathematical set, red biro,
(a) submit marked scripts for vetting progressively;
(b) enter scores into Marks and Attendance sheets from vetted scripts;
(c) submit marked scripts with corresponding Marks and Attendance sheets for checking;
(d) collect the Examiners’ Mark Sheet (EMS) for your centre(s) from the Subject Officer
when all scripts allocated to you have been marked, vetted and checked;
(e) transfer carefully the scores from the certified Marks and Attendance Sheets into the
EMS and shade accordingly;
(f) sit with your Subject Officer to crosscheck entries;
(g) finally, submit all materials given to you by the Council to the Subject Officer for final
clearance.
NOTE: Any examiner who fails to comply with this progressive method
of submission of vetted scripts will be blacklisted.
8. Irregular Scripts
Any irregular scripts found in the pack should be carefully listed on the appropriate form (i.e.
SSCE FORM R) and handed over to the Subject Officer. The nature of irregularity must also
be indicated in the report. The examiner must write his/her number and endorse the form.
6. Conference Marking:
Each examiner will continue to mark his/her scripts in conference until he/she has completed
the marking of the scripts allocated to him/her.
NOTE: Examiners who fail to submit Examiner’s Mark sheet (EMS) on or before the last day
stipulated will be blacklisted.
4. Claim Forms
To facilitate prompt payment of entitlements, all examiners are advised to count their scripts,
reconcile same with the Script Officer before completing their claim forms and subsequent
submission for certification and approval by the Venue
